Portelet is a quieter beach on the south-west coast of Guernsey with easy car park access and toilet facilities, as well as the kiosk which serves various snacks and drinks including Guernsey ice cream. The sand is firm and the water quality is clean and crisp. A pier stretches out to sea, which can be walked along and is covered at high tide. At low tide, there are many rockpools and the pier wall is perfect for crabbing. Bear in mind that Portelet also loses the sun quite early in the evening.
