L’eree is a picturesque beach located on the west coast of the island. It is an ideal spot to watch the sunset with an evening barbecue and for looking out onto Hanois lighthouse and Fort Grey. During the summer months, there is an ice cream van parked at the beach car park to enjoy. Large flat rocks provide the perfect seating space for those who don’t want to get sand everywhere.
Situated alongside Guernsey’s most popular beach Vazon, Richmond is as equally inviting to those who are looking for a wind-down and an evening barbecue by the sea. Found on the west coast, summer evenings here provide the perfect viewing spot for sunsets, but also daytime dog walks or simply relaxing on the soft sand with an ice-cream from the nearby kiosk.

Marble Bay is one of the most treasured and secret bays of Guernsey. It’s important to visit at high tide to see it at its best, with almost tropical waters. Swimming here is an entertaining experience as the south coast boasts interesting rock formations and caves to explore. It’s the perfect spot for a picnic lunch, but loses the sun quite early in the evening. For more information on how to get there, visit our walking routes page.
Pembroke Bay and L’Ancresse stretch across the North coast and are popular among families and water-sport enthusiasts alike. The expanse of soft sands means you won’t feel crowded even at its busiest, and the cafe and kiosk along with the unspoiled view make it even easier to spend the whole day here.
Perelle Bay is one of the more open beaches, situated just off Route de la Perelle on the West Coast of the island. Although a small spot, it is perfect for a quick dip in the sunshine at high tide or a short walk across the pebbled bay.
This beautiful secluded bay lies at the bottom of a steep cliff with a trek of over 270 steps down onto the golden sands. However the effort is most definitely worth it for the hidden caves and idyllic scenery. In the summer months at high tide, this bay is considered one of the best swimming spots for both locals and tourists to enjoy.
